       Some early observations about Bluesky:• People are having fun. People clearly missed using Twitter to shitpost.• There are no norms yet. Nobody uses content warnings, nor is there a built-in feature for content warnings.• Nobody uses alt text. Nobody gets scolded for not using alt text. Right now, Bluesky seems like a nightmare for blind and low-vision people.• It's eery to see known abusers on Bluesky who I've had blocked for years, without the ability to block them.• It's only a matter of days before violent right-wing accounts like A*dy Ng* show up on Bluesky. They WILL be allowed on, and they WILL build large followings, and the content moderation and privacy tools of Bluesky are not yet up to the task.

       @changeling @Natanael_L @chadloder Thank you! Already I notice on the signup page that the buttons to create an account and to sign in are clickable text rather than buttons. Not a blocker by any means, but it tells me that they have not considered accessibility at this stage. Which is unsurprising, but I can't really recommend it either. Nor am I really inclined to give them a free audit; they should pay someone to give them a thorough report, then address that feedback before full launch.

       @objectinspace @changeling @Natanael_L They should be paying you for your accessibioity testing. @caseynewton @mmasnick It's worth an early analysis of Bluesky from an accessibility perspective, because right now they are making accessibility an afterthought.

       @chadloder @objectinspace @changeling @Natanael_L @caseynewton interesting. they did enable alt text for images early, and I have used it on all my posts with images, but I'll suggest to them that they add reminders at least that people should add alt text.

       @anarchosynthism A lot of people got scolded for shitposting on Mastodon when they first came over from Twitter. That and it's harder to find people on here. Mastodon has a seriousness or earnestness to it, that's for sure.
