@gnome Software is one of the best #Linux software centers in terms of UI and features. It has the option to choose package format, view app screenshots, description, ratings, download size, permissions, whether the app is open source or not and many more. The only drawback is the long (re)loading time which can be quite annoying sometimes.#gnome #gnomesoftware #softwarecenter #foss #OpenSource #fosserytech

@pixelcode @gnome I saw many people complaining about it, and I have this issue since I started using Gnome 1-2 years ago. Hope they'll fix it in the future

@fosserytech @gnome Compared to synaptic, it's terrible for deb.Compared to the flatpak cli, it's terrible for flatpakEven just clicking on a deb is terrible compared to the separate package install tool.It has gotten better but it's never been good at anything

@lachlan @gnome Yeah Synaptic is maybe a bit faster.But in Fedora, Gnome Software is much better compared to DNF Dragora which is literally unusable.I prefer Gnome Software overall because it's convenient (minus the sometimes long loading time) for all formats including externally downloaded packages. (Never tried GDebi though)

@fosserytech @gnome interesting. I don't rpm but when it first came out I was genuinely shocked that people could use gnome software without crying

@lachlan @gnome the UI got much much better since then, and it shows much more information about apps than most other software centers. The only problem remaining is the speed
