One of my windows friends once made the joke of "if Linux is so good why isn't there a Linux 2?"I just replied that we have moved way beyond Linux 2 and that it is at (whatever Version what the most newest one at the time)Yes.I am very fun to be around sometimes.

@silasvt@techhub.social Remember that you can have your revenge and ask him how often did he have any Windows updates last week ๐Ÿ˜† You as openSUSE Tumbleweedโ€‹:opensuse:โ€‹ user already had like seven of those โ€‹:hehe:โ€‹

@szkodnix the thing is Windows people don't view updates as a positive lol. I do. Most Linux people do I think.Because I control when to install them. And installing them doesn't really disrupt much.Thats now how it is on windows at all.

@silasvt@techhub.social Yeah, I have the same. I am super excited if I get any notification about updates in openSUSE, especially that they are really transparent about them later on their Blog. Even if those are just some silly codecs. But maybe they just don't view it like that because of how it is done on Windows. Requiring restarting your PC every time you need to apply some bigger packages, well... it is kinda discouraging, isn't it?

@szkodnix I don't trust those notifications. I think the notifications are just from packagekit. and packagekit sucks.I have a chron job that runs every day at 19:00 with sudo zypper dup --download-onlyand i think --y too.. i would have to look it up.So that whenever i want to update system packages they are mostly already downloaded and ready to install. haven't set a job for flatpaks up yet though.

@silasvt@techhub.social It's not that I sometimes don't just randomly use sudo zypper dup ๐Ÿ˜‰ I also treat them more like a hint.

@szkodnix well yeah but i got annoyed with some random package not being able to be downloaded when i do want to update. and it takes too long to me. so i let it download automatically

@silasvt@techhub.social Also how did you set up this chron to download all updates automatically at 19.00?
