To date, I've tried not to clutter my feed with boosts/reblogs, because some people may like what I boost, and others might not. However, there are many good photographers using Mastodon and I'd like to give them the exposure they deserve, so as of today I'm going to start boosting toots... a lot.Mastodon has a tool that will let you hide boosts in someone's feed. Simply tap on that person's avatar, look for the three dots on their profile page, and select the hide boosts/reblogs option.

@alandersen favourited, not because I needed a reminder to hide your boosts but because I'm looking forward to seeing more of what you like 🙂

@alandersen This is a great tip! I usually use the web interface to Mastodon and I usually have *all* boosts turned off. I didn't know (until now) that boosts could be turned off on a per-user basis)(I'm fighting an issue where too many boosts can drive out posts from followers. Maybe turning off boosts from certain people I follow can help clear that up...)(https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/20658)Thanks for the great tip and the great photos.#FediTips

@nellie_m My tastes are pretty eclectic. I do mostly nature, landscape, travel images, but I'm always interested in what other people have to offer. For example, though not a fan of architectural photography, I recently found a photographer that does colorful architectural images which I really like. I also like monochrome images with lots of contrast but not with lots of grain. I also like abandoned stuff, when captured well, either in color or monochrome.

@thomasb I'm slowly learning the ins and outs of the fediverse. I used to not follow people if they reboosted a lot. Discovereing that you can hide individual reboosts made my home feed nice and clean, allowing me to focus on what I really like to see. Recently I learned that on some apps and on the web interface you can hide reboosts on any local feed. I don't use it much, because I look at other local feeds to find interesting things, but I can see where that would be really useful.

@alandersen The way I see it, the photos are the main draw. You'll be seeing a lot from me.
