       I’m not looking to join blue sky yet for my own reasons but also this is accurate plus the way black folks were first treated here by some of the biggest instances explain the appeal.

       Even I, as a terminally online person, still couldn’t engage with mastodon in any meaningful way till I got @ivory because the out of the box UX is so shoddy.

       @dbsmasher @ivory My #Mastodon web experience was massively changed after I installed @rolle 's Mastodon Bird UI. https://github.com/ronilaukkarinen/mastodon-bird-uiI wish that was the default UI for Mastodon.

       @mookie Mastodon is great in that regard, I can modify the things that are not to my likings. Both UI and features are in control of the regular coders like me.Can't say the same about Bluesky. Not yet at least. They say it will be self hosted but I'm skeptical about whether a company owned platform would ever give 100% control to its users.@dbsmasher @ivory
