@ShekinahCanCook Not following the news is irresponsible at best, actively aiding the descent into fascism at worst. Obsessing about it though, is harmful. Put on your oxygen mask first, as always. Social media is life, is social contact, for a lot of folks. Esp the disabled, who are being deliberately excluded from meatspace by everyone refusing to mask and openly practicing eugenics. So anyone who recommends not being aware or not being online is actively playing for the fascists team - whether they realize it or not. What we need is balance. Social media is where we find the independent news folk, and it’s 100% appropriate to spend time here daily. But we also need breaks, and to log off and go touch grass, as it were. Participate in hobbies, talk to people one on one, etc. Find the middle path.
