anybody know any good headphones/headsets in the < $300 range? They can have bluetooth but I won't use it, so they have to at least have wired headphone jack capability (or usb if that's a thing?). They would be for general use at work and at home. I will also note that I don't like to turn headphones super loud (with the headphones they provide at work I have mine almost all the way down) so noise cancelling is definitely a plus. I probably want it to have a microphone but if it doesn't have one that's alright.

@eve Got a set of ATH-M40X for <$200AUD, they're pretty solid, and have a detachable cable. You could probably manage some nicer ones for $300 or less.

@izaya @eve I have the Audio Technica ATH-M50x and it has lasted me 8 years? It does have a design flaw that will eventually lead to the hinge stopping mechanism to break. However, I just 3D printed a fix for it and am still using them without issue.I've replaced the earpads once and need to do it again sometime soon (don't fall for it if you find earpads that claim better audio quality, they don't). And the cable is showing showing strong signs that it needs a replacement soon.To me it's important that a headset lasts long and is repairable, so that's why I can strongly recommend these despite the design flaw mentioned.
