       @seth @chrismessina @Sketch Bigger problem is that - due to the subscription model - you loose the ability to access your files after you cancel the subscription. You are not allowed to use the latest version you actually paid for with the subscription. I paid for Sketch for years before they introduced the subscription model and I still use the last version I paid for. Had I switched to subscription I would been screwed. As a consequence I had to stop paying Sketch. Still sad for me. Now I recommend @penpot to everyone. It not quite on par with Sketch but it‘s. getting betrer every day and is Open Source. :-)

       @seth @cptdesign @Sketch @penpot Sketch is a superior-feeling design tool, but that's subjective.Figma files aren't super portable either — they'll always require being opened in Figma, but Figma targets selling to teams and enterprises, whereas, like most Mac software, they only added multiplayer features (comments, etc) much later.That said, we're clearly moving to a world where we pay for ongoing relationships — whether in the software we use or newsletters we read — to sustain them.
