       @tess @davidgerard They're planning ahead to explicitly allow hate groups, and just let people opt out of seeing them in their feed. Because obviously that solves the problem.

       @Npars01 @herrurbach @mathew And yet, there are a sizable number of African-Americans who prefer that environment to Mastodon.If Mastodon cannot provide a better environment for a marginalized group than Bluesky, perhaps it is time to pause and reflect.

       @herrurbach @Npars01 @tofugolem Social networks of all kinds are just a massive shitshow at this point in time. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s a good solution. If you built a system that was designed to be decentralized and not to allow abusive behavior, nobody would use it. That’s one reason I keep stopping myself from working on one.
