@riley yeah i was sitting next to 2 Japanese guys who touched the Steam Deck for the first time. Their first impression was デカイ which means "this thing is huge" but then immediately followed by "actually comfortable to hold" 持ちやすい

@riley they also added that the screen is a bit small all things considered (probably comment related to the bezel size)

@boilingsteam The day the Australian Steam deck launches will be the day they announce Deck 2.0.

@cooopsspace sounds about right! Dont forget that in Japan we had to wait almost 8 months to get our hands on it...

@boilingsteam trying to break into Nintendo and Sony territory is pretty impressive though. Valve must really be backing their product. I’d be interested in knowing how you find your deck.

@boilingsteam You have showed that they sell the Steam Deck and the Dock, but do they also sell SD cards too (I mean, I guess that should somewhere in the store, but in proximity to these?)

@boilingsteamWas wondering two things following your thread (late, because sleep);1) What was in (or being represented by) the "Steam" boxes above the 512GB variant in the photo of the shelving?2) Any idea how many of these buyers are first-time purchasers, and how many have bought online already and just want one of the first retail Steam Decks?

@alyn 1) steam gift cards. You pay cash and get the equivalent in steam credits to buy games 2) no idea but my guess is mostly first time buyers

@boilingsteam1) Ah yes, forgot they were a thing. Don't seem to see them in the UK (at least where I am).2) That's great then. Cool that some people waited until retail availability before buying. Obviously one city isn't a country and one country isn't the world, but it shows there is pent-up demand still.
