       The most critical difference between leftists & rightists is that the latter is more concerned with an image or idea of life and adhering to that ideal while the former just does whatever brings them immediate joy and not really caring so much about long term respectability or how their lives look in the great scheme of things. So rightists live by an idea of life while leftists just live life.

       @penis-chan I guess, but lots of leftists do seem profoundly status-obsessed and defer gratification just to be part of the Kewl Kidz Klub, which is of course different (in a bad way) from caring about ideas and principles.

       @ChristiJunior I think the status obsession stems from insecurity. It's a way of sticking it to the bigots who won't accept their degeneracy. They have to feel like they're smarter, better educated, and wealthier than conservatives as a coping mechanism. It's their way of justifying their degeneracy to themselves.
