can we add/remove/change pleroma's media proxy without breaking everything?like moving from an S3 provider to anotheronly for media proxy, not local medias

@duponin Not really, URLs shouldn't change, which is why a dedicated hostname is a neat idea.

@lanodan I thought Pleroma was rewriting media URL when proxied?however, this makes sense for federated media

@duponin Ah yeah for federated, for the actual local proxy it should be fine.

@vector1dev okay I get it, that's because Pleroma doesn't separate local upload from proxied contentat my understanding

@lanodan at my understanding, there's no configuration for having two different uploaders, having one for proxy and one for local medias

@duponin Pleroma doesn't store remote content at all. Pleroma just works as a proxy. Storage is handled by proxy_cache in nginx/etc.

@duponin MediaProxy isn't an uploader (that's local-only) at all it's pure http-caching hence why I got confused with the S3 mention.

@lanodan okayyas far as I understand, that adds an URL on object that goes by Pleroma and that's Pleroma that requests the media, and nginx/whatever caches itDo I get it right?

@lanodan nicemfw I’d like moving local medias without breaking federationduponin@udongein:/opt/pleroma$ du -sch uploads/61Guploads/61Gtotal

@duponin Yeah, it's why I might recommend setting something like a media hostname for big instances, specially as that avoids breaking uploads when moving object-storage providers or switching to one.

@lanodan but this should be done at instance creationand I doubt naiji planned it would grow this big (even though it's far from SPC or similar)

@tusooa @duponin There's also profiles, which to me are quite more important than all posts (which would be horribly expensive to updates for…).

@tusooa @duponin Yeah, that's what I meant, tons of attachments, not many users.
