       Western media is bizarrely manufacturing a hysteria about China militarily reunifying Taiwan with the mainland. Is America planning to conduct military operations in the South China Sea? Is this some kind of projection or distraction?

       Also, comparing Russia vs. the Ukraine to China vs. Taiwan is asinine. These are completely different situations with totally different contexts and astronomically different setups. Russia and the Ukraine have their own distinct historical and materialist baggage from China and Taiwan. The Ukraine is an Eastern European territory with lots of land borders and connections whereas Taiwan is an island. Russia has always been weak, dysfunctional, and corrupt since the collapse of the USSR while China is pretty strong and organized. Be it geopolitically or militarily...you cannot compare the two situations. What happens in the war in the Ukraine is in no way representative of how things would go in a hypothetical war between China and Taiwan. I'm really tired of hearing talking heads, "commentators and "political analysts", even "military experts" continue spouting comparisons or drawing parallels.

       @adiz i say projection, from what i can gather from my interactions with statunians and clips and bits from their news outlets, the public opinion is already very positive in going on an all out war with russia or china, my guess is they r further cementing the public opinion to avoid a unpopular war like their invasion of vietnam and provoke a response from china so they come out as victims of "warmongering evil communists"they want it badly, just need a "reason" and public support

       @humanista@mastodon.com.br You always see media blitzs like this before conflict happens. The United States media machine spent years priming the American public for war against Iraq in 2003. Like Trump or hate Trump, I firmly believe that had Trump not gotten elected the United States was fully prepared for war against Syria in 2016 or 2017---they had already dedicated years in propaganda preparing the public for such a conflict and fermenting terrorist groups like ISIS/ISIL/IS in the region as a justification for intervention against the Assad government.

       @humanista@mastodon.com.br I don't think it's a Republican vs. Democrat thing with Trump. Trump was not/is not part of the establishment. He was never supposed to run, let alone win. It wasn't apart of "the plan". It didn't matter if it was Hillary, McCain, or some other establishment Republican or Democrat---they were going to invade Syria and the surrounding area, maybe even go into Iran. They spent essentially the second term of the Obama administration preparing for it. Trump got elected, ruined "the plan" and by the time they got rid of him the window of opportunity has passed and other issues, like COVID, got in the way.
