Republicans always want to achieve “fiscal responsibility” on the backs of the country’s most vulnerable citizens, while leaving its most financially well off unscathed.Tax cuts to the very wealthy is the most reckless spending there is while the GOP treats workers, even in red states, like parasites. The debt ceiling should be separate, anyway. Biden is right not to negotiate on that.https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2023/04/house-republicans-debt-ceiling-clean-energy-ira-irs-joe-biden/

@TonyStark Republicans forcing people off medicaid and into the workforce without a plan for better child care for families struggling to make ends meet is just another way of punishing most Americans. And getting rid of Biden’s job and infrastructure plans hurts the red states, too. More Republicans should defect from Kevin.

@TonyStark Republicans are never "fiscally responsible" when a Republican President is sleeping in the White House.

@scuba_nut53 @TonyStark The Republican "fiscal responsibility" talk is complete myth; only to be used when it suits them.Let's face it. Both parties want to spend money with the exception perhaps of Republicans wanting to send more money back to the rich in tax cuts.Biden's for the plus $400k crowd which is OK with me; the GOP's for the rest of us - already struggling to make ends meet - don't like it.

@scuba_nut53 @kentnelson Democrats and Republicans both borrow money. Democrats do it to stimulate the US economy, Republicans do it to stimulate the Cayman Islands economy.

@TonyStark A US credit rating downgrade (what Republican messing with this will bring) will make credit more expensive for car loans, small business loans, mortgages, not just US Treasuries. Idiot GOP wants to destroy the US dollar and hope a few independents will get confused and blame the Democrats in ‘24. About as stupid a show as McCarthy’s 15 House Speaker ballots but more damaging by far.

@TonyStark The Debt Limit should be a stand alone issue. Cuts in spending should be addressed in the yearly budget.Political terrorism by the Republican Party.
