       Just had a wonderful moment here. Whereas Twitter is, for some, a shitposting environment,  here there is sometimes an air of scolding. I was scolded for not including alt text--quite rightly!--and now I'm doing it. I was scolded twice for praising the leadership of @Gargron -- as in, "We don't need no leaders here." I responded, saying there are many forms of leadership. This person apologized (unnecessarily) for being snippy. 🤝  Thus are norms negotiated, standards set. I'm ❤️ing Mastodon.

       @jeffjarvis Feeling a similar vibe as well. I saw someone describing this as a place that encourages people to interact as people (not as brands or as comedy bits) and I think there's something to that.

       @rajibsingh @jeffjarvis there is definitely something about being a person ;). A personal brand is like a personal mask. It's like another skin, creeping into your own. Ahem.
