I think I should stop watching war videos for a while.. I was trying to understand the situation on the ground from the view of the Ukrainian soldiers as much as possible but I have a feeling it's having an impact on my mindCan't help them from here so I figured something like sharing the burden it makes it more fair but I guess that's dumbIt is soo freaking real over there, I cannot imagine what it does to those people if I see what it does to me on such a distanceWar is so damn terrible

@stux i’m trying to avoid as much war news as possible. It really affects the mind. I don’t like it when my brain cheers when reporting says that many Russian soldiers were killed.

In this case I am not talking about staticstics or videos from the governments but body cam footage from the soldiers on the frontlineA real view from hell on Earth, the people who live it and hopefully survive it but also a lot of deathEven knowing it's the enemy that invaded their land, it's still a hooman and that's very hard to watchAt the end of the day most are pawns in a game played by a few...

@stux when the war first broke out, I followed heavily and read everything I could from OSINT accounts. The experienced OSINT accounts kept cautioning all of the newcomers to not dive in deeper than they could handle and relayed tales of people developing PTSD-like problems from being exposed to so much horrible footage. People have different reactions to viewing war footage. It depends on how your brain is wired. It hits some people a lot harder than others. If that's you, setting boundaries is a must.

@stux @shonin Tourniquets are equipment that essentially stop the flow of blood to an area. Helps with leg and arm wounds and such, and are also commonly used in blood draw procedures in the like.

@stux Had the same in mind when i was asked recently to join a visit to a holocaust memorial. Was there once a long time ago. Could never do it again. Haven't even watched "Schindlers List" nor be able to watch any of those war clips from accounts here supporting the ukrain.It's f... real. Horror the horror. 😱

@stux Watching people suffer and die is not good for your mind. Most veterans of heavy combat get permanent burdens from it.Once you're aware of what it's like to have people torn apart, watching more vids like that isn't going to make you more informed.No need to hurt yourself just because you care.

@stux I completely agree with - "At the end of the day most are pawns in a game played by a few..." It's heartbreaking for so many families. On the other hand there are those who are wringing their hands with greed at the profits they are making from the situation.
