I feel a certain type of way about not paying somebody to work on a commercial project (I've been on the other side of that coin). If I somehow generate some substantial income with some sort of early access scheme or something then an original soundtrack is at the top of my list to contract out though.

Right on. It's very early to set anything in stone but the idea of pitching to a publisher (I have two specific ones in mind) isn't off the table. I have virtually no way to market my game or access to social media so even if I don't approach them for funding, I may approach them for marketing/promotion services.
