I doubt widespread hydrogen use in cars is likely for a long time

I realize lithion ion batteries can catch fire too, but that's a simple electric battery not a chemistry station

Hydrocarbon fuels have high energy density and are very easy to store and transport.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_density>Liquid hydrocarbons (fuels such as gasoline, diesel and kerosene) are today the densest way known to economically store and transport chemical energy at a large scale (1 kg of diesel fuel burns with the oxygen contained in ≈15 kg of air).I rather like the idea of hybrid cars that reduce fuel waste and pollution in city traffic while in theory being as convenient as regular internal combustion engine cars. No doubt worse to repair and maintain when old.
