       If you run an instance but you don’t do basic stuff like adjudicate appeals of content bans, it’s worse than if your instance didn’t exist. If you don’t run your instance semi-competently, you’re massively wasting a lot of people’s time as they have to then migrate out of it etc. Either take it seriously or don’t do it. I’m talking about some of the largest instances, e.g., mstdn.social. #mastodon @stux

       @stux And if your attitude is “run your own server,” that’s fine but tell people on #Twitter that running your own server is a requirement before mindlessly encouraging them to switch to Mastodon.

       @stux This was one of them. Benign satire but either it triggered a keyword search or (more likely) I had a particular group of extreme trans activists targeting my account with frivolous takedown requests
