Comment on Tucker. Everyone says he'll be fine or he can go to Rumble, etc. The problem is his show on Fox was part of a machine. With story developers, bookers and writers who you will notice never appear on a credit roll for fear of poaching. He can't afford the overhead for this sort of "Machine." Without the machine, he's just a guy. He'll probably go the "guy doing interviews on a podcast" route.

@Johncdvorak this was my take as well. But Steven Crowder has a “machine” too. Carlson can do something similar tooled differently with a different purpose, but still less eyeballs will be on him. My mom just wants to be able to turn on the tv at a certain time and see something consistently that is at least close to worthy of some of the highest efforts and budgets in the world to make an hour news show that everybody will be talking about.

@Johncdvorak Fox's audience needed Tucker Carlson more than anyone.This is the point most are missing in this fallout.He'll only be preaching to the converted on an independent network. @wyliesau @Johncdvorak I agree with the machine part. O’Reilly had the same sort of audience and owned that time slot before FNC was forced to can him, and where is he now? Personally, I think he’ll fall somewhere in the middle of podcast interview guy and major show. He’ll probably take a bit of time off, and then go to someplace like Beck where he gets an established, targeted audience.

@Johncdvorak Glenn Greenwald started Intercept with less money per year than Tucker got per week. Sure Glenn maligned himself from Intercept eventually, but that speaks to his character. If Tucker wants to be a real journalist he can do it now freely with his own millions of dollars and supporters. I doubt he has the will.
