@1967GTO @Bro-Drillard It's funny because the US has been frustrated with Japan's pacifism for decades, but it's all their fault for buckbreaking Japan so hard after WW2. They'd love a more hawkish Japan to help keep China in check, but Japan is only now taking some tiny preliminary steps towards having a functional military again.

@InceptionState @1967GTO @Bro-Drillard It's the same deal as why the modern U.S. has no competent generals. Anyone good enough to be useful is a coup risk. If Germany or Japan were allowed to recuperate and cast off their post-WWII shackles, they could maintain the hegemony of the alliance, but they'd take issue with being told to tolerate replacement migration and exploitation by the international financial system.
