If you were to pick an #EV, would you buy an electric-only vehicle, or a plug-in hybrid, and why?

@realcaseyrollins Range on EV's aren't suitable for rural life, especially in the winter.

@realcaseyrollins Perhaps? when your grocery trip alone is a 100 miles, you are into a 6 figure car to be able to handle more than that in winter. The ioniq is around 360 on the sticker, reality around 300, and in winter closer to 200.

@elliswyatt @realcaseyrollins Our office has a Tesla, it is still new, but I drove over 300 miles on a single charge this winter. It's been a few months,so I don't remember the temperature at the time, but I believe it was near freezing, not below.

@elliswyatt @realcaseyrollins Yeah, definitely doesn't get that cold here. The other problem with electric cars is battery life. I currently drive a twenty year old car, I doubt the battery in any electric car will last half that long, and it costs almost as much as the car itself to replace.

@jlcrawf @realcaseyrollins Ya I'm on the other side of that horseshoe. I drive, a lot. 750-1000 mi a week. The battery would be cycling frequently for charging, and that wears them down hard.I typically get 4-6 years out of an ICE car, and for the most part, it's the transmissions more often than not that fail, the engines are running smooth, but everything else is failing.
