"The solutions – wind, solar, trees, energy saving & methane cuts – require no new technology. But what they do require is a resource heavily lacking so far: the political will to push aside vested interests & rapidly pursue the policies that will work."https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/apr/20/down-to-earth-ipcc-emissions

This is based on IPCC, specifically this chart, compiled by a team of the world’s best scientists, based on 175 studies. https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/wg3/figures/summary-for-policymakers/IPCC_AR6_WGIII_FigureSPM7.png

@MatthiasSchmelzerAll energy sources you enumerated require *vast* amounts of very physical resources, such as metals, concrete, energy and land surface for their construction and operations. This is the main limiting factor, not some political conspiracies. Nobody wants to flood new valleys for hydro power and nobody wants to cut forests for new on-shore wind farms in densely populated countries.
