I have a real problem with the way stand your ground laws and the newer castle rules are implemented/interpreted. The old "castle rule" was pretty straightforward in that someone had to cross the threshold of a home before a resident could use deadly force. Shooting people just for being in ones yard or on their porch puts thousands of delivery employees and federal employees at risk of being killed. UPS, FedEx, Amazon, Census Bureau, USPS, FEMA all have legal access to front porches and many are authorized to ignore "No Trespassing" signs. The current trend of shooting non-threats just for being on someone's property shows how foolish many gun laws are. Also shows the need for fitness to own weapons laws are needed.
