There's someone small who appreciates perverse carposting, so...here's a 1990 Mitsubishi Bravo 4WD with several acres of glass on the roof!

@mhjohnson almost certainly more interesting and fun than whatever is in your driveway or mine. For comparison, a new Polaris Ranger starts at 19k.

@jeremiah The small person says this just be for Mini Mouse because it is so mini. I had to clarify that not all small cars are Mini™ because there seems to be some confusion

@levisan @jeremiah that would've been way more money though, so i'm driving them around in this instead. only serious regret is the lack of additional passenger capacity. (i've been taking the kids to school one at a time tuesday mornings while my wife's got the car at work)

@levisan she's not wrong, it does look a bit like something out of a children's book come to life.

@sabbatical @levisan @jeremiah So cool! I capture them on my dashcam once in a while[1]. Texas seems particularly hospitable to non-standard cars[2]. I seriously considered a minitruck, but unfortunately I don't have a place to park it. The most I can have is a scooter.1: https://mu.zaitcev.nu/notice/AM1zqw9FIgkHL5VqPg2: https://mu.zaitcev.nu/notice/APsIOp45QzQnlwkgiW

@stuff @sabbatical @jeremiah This makes me want stats on how common “weird” cars are in different places

@levisan @stuff @sabbatical the DMV/BMV should be able to do that by simply looking at registration records for whatever your parameters for weird are.

@levisan @sabbatical @jeremiah I definitely see quite a number of cars in Texas that you are not likely to be able to register in California or Maryland. One time a couple of years ago I saw a HiLux of about 2015 vintage with Texas plates. I strongly suspect that a loophole exists that allows to register imports in Texas that are younger than 25 years.
