The motion is brought under Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct 1.6, 1.7, and 1.9That means we have to stop to look up those rules. 1.8: A lawyer shall not use information gained in the professional relationship with a client to the disadvantage . . .so we obviously have a conflict going on. But this isn't just a motion to prevent multiple representation. The motion is to prohibit Debrow from continuing in this matter.Which means Willis is accusing her of doing something really bad.Let's just skip to to the statement of facts to find out what happened . . . 3/

Holly A. Pierson and Kimberly Bourroughs Debrow were retained to simultaneously represent 11 people who signed false certifications. Basically, the fake electors.Apparently some of these electors would receive offers of immunity. The Court did not order the DA to reveal which electors could potentially receive immunity from prosecution. Instead, the Court instructed Pierson and Debrow to extend a blanket offer of immunity to each to gauge each elector’s interest.4/

On August 5, Pierson and Debrow reported that none of their clients were interested in offers of immunity.On October 3, Willis filed a motion to disqualify Pierson and Debrow in their simultaneous representation of the above 11 persons. November 30: The court ruled that Pierson and Dubrow could represent Shafer or the other ten electors, but not both.They agreed that Pierson would represent Shafer and Debrow would represent the others.So they split up. 5/

Finally we get to the good part.According to Willis: "This situation reached an impracticable and ethical mess as events the past week have shown."Apparently, on April 12th and 14th, the DA’s office intervewed the electors and learned that they were never presented with offers of immunity.Ooops.That's really bad.They didn't present the offers of immunity and lied about it.🛎️ UNETHICAL 🛎️ 6/

And that's not all.The DA's office, during these interviews, also learned that one of the electors engaged in "acts that are violations of GA law" and that the others were not party to these additional acts. I'm reading as fast as I can and I don't see what this additional act was. But I don't see it. It doesn't look like the illegal act was revealed here.7/

Okay, so what we learn is that some of these electors would like immunity, which means they are willing to spill everything they know (it also means they are not stupid and don't want to fall on their swords to try to save Trump.)We also learn that one of the electors did something else in violation of GA laws, and the other electors are informing the DA's office.Willis wants Debrow entirely removed from the case, not just precluded from simultaneous representation.Well, well, well.8/

This, by the way, is why these things take time. Prosecutors need to get to the bottom of things, and with a corrupt organization, it isn't easy.I don't know anything about these lawyers but they were obviously not acting in the best interests of their clients. They were acting in the best interest of Trump and whoever was behind the fake elector scheme.With a corrupt organization (and I think we can call the Trump-GOP that) you want the foot soldiers turning on the generals.9/

@Teri_Kanefield a great number of lawyers sadly have their best interest in mind even before the clients they represent. Greed is the motivating factor for far too many lawyers. Of course, there are many amazing and highly ethical lawyers as well.
