I see people complaining on Instagram about shadowbanning and discrimination by the moderators or algorithms. I see people complaining about Musk being a jerk or bad algorithms on Twitter. People are talking about their content disappearing or them not being able to post. Yet they still prefer their social media centralized and keep posting controversial stuff. And keep complaining. It's like shouting to the wind and it's sad to watch.I don't want to live on this planet any more, but I don't want to move to Mars either, because it's soon owned by Musk. @rolle this kind of reaction is a mix of intellectual laziness, FOMO, herd behavior and Stockholm Syndrome all lumped together in one orchestrated cacophony to manipulate your time, attention and therefore money.Centralized social media is a #grift. The only thing that is real about it all is the amount of money it leeches out of the world.where is the big red delete server-farm and backups button... I really want to push it.

@rolle People love to complain. And most of those people won’t consider moving platforms because they’ll lose all their friends or the perceived clout they have, without considering (or possibly understanding) that it’s all under someone else’s control. We can slowly but surely wear them down with education and compassion.

@rolle though... iirc yanks made later a law that person can own minerals etc. collected from celestial objects, so Mars getting stripmined is a possible risk 😑
