Commercial Bay is a nice modern shopping mall in downtown #Auckland which has a large international food court. Most of the restaurants are Asian, but you can also get real yummy Greek and non-Asian food. What is your favorite food? #NewZealand https://ift.tt/NlGwFb2

@LucyWildboots yes, that is veryTexan. Luckily I just ate, otherwise I would be hungry too. I, too, love BBQ and I love Mexican and Chinese food.

@backpackandsnorkel I love Vietnamese food more than Chinese, but I do like it. I think if I got to choose one more it would be country French.

@LucyWildboots I like Vietnamese food too, but prefer authentic Chinese. Maybe I’ll change my mind after our Vietnam trip. I like French food too but - sorry for the stereotype - I have never tried escargots. In French Polynesia I bought a fresh baguette almost every morning and we ate it warm for breakfast. That was heaven!

@backpackandsnorkel I have OCD and I’m #ActuallyAutistc. Some textures I won’t eat. That’s one of them. When we lived in another neighborhood here, we lived across the street from a French-trained bread maker. And her croissants were incredible. We could look out our window to see if there was a line and they were all usually gone by noon. Heaven. Now we live in the CID and our condo has 4 restaurants in our building: Korean, Bahn-mi, Dim Sum and Sushi.

@LucyWildboots Oh my, count me in for the Dim Sum. :)I, too, have some foods that I will not eat. Regardless of how they are prepared. Please tell me what you mean with “textures you won’t eat”. Is that the texture of a food item? So, e.g. a fish that you may not eat when it is cooked, but you it is OK when it is steamed or fried?

@backpackandsnorkel It’s the texture of the food, mostly. So fried okra is fine, boiled okra no good. Oysters in cooking okay, raw oysters are a no. There are very few flavors that I rule out completely, licorice or anise flavored things would be the exception. And while I love most of the Brussels sprout family, Brussels Sprouts themselves taste like a can. :bd29:

@LucyWildboots I am not a big fan of Brussels Sprouts either. I eat them, but if you can avoid them, then I do.Luckily, I don’t have to worry about them in Chinese or Vietnamese food. :)

@backpackandsnorkel I tried them once wrapped in bacon. I thought that might help because….bacon. But they just tasted like bacon wrapped cans. 😂 I’ve never experienced Vietnamese market food. Either way good travels!

@LucyWildboots I can’t believe it…I did that too, because I was hoping that the bacon would overpower the taste of the Brussels Sprouts and, well, it did not. The same thing goes for meat sauces and ketchup. :)Thank you!
