@prouddegenerate @Sp @errante pawoo is sort of a gatewayit's a hub where everybody lands, be it a gooner or a fedbot or a regular map/aam dipping their toes into the community for the first time.gatekeeping pawoo doesn't really help, we're already starting to become an echo chamber of a dwindling number of people on a select few instances; pawoo is one of the few doors into the community that is accessible to people who aren't... as certain in their identity as most of us are.im not as against making fun of pawooners but when i do so im primarily targeting the glowies and the extremely small group of people who are intentionally causing problems by posting legit cp (and those individuals have migrated for the most part, as spag said obo_sh is now the most dangerous in that regard; i've been avoiding mentioning it too much to keep the trolls from flocking to it and ruining it like pawoo, hoping their admins do a better job, etc) and the somewhat larger group of people who are oblivious to opsec or who just lurk adacent to that material.the smarter people will eventually migrate out of pawoo to other map-friendly spaces or similar instances, like nnia and freak uni. then from there they tend to migrate to more lax or specific instances, like rot or lolison - depending on what part of the community they end up vibing with.imo pawoo should be filtered, not blocked outright.obosh im not sure of yet, its mainly a porn instance that the cp posters are just disappearing into bc theres enough bots and regular porn posters filling the timeline with enough that they can slide by largely unnoticed. also, a fair amount of those people are smart ones that left pawoo to start over and do so with locked accounts so very little of the cp is actually public. so whether it needs to be filtered as well or blocked i think depends on how active the admins get about monitoring and purging their instance.and its not like those two instances are the only ones, those are just the big ones. anybody can get into basically any instance, and most are not really moderated well yet, and the larger ones definitely don't even have the manpower to do so. so this is going to be a recurring issue until the fediverse itself advances its moderation capabilities, or instances focus on retaining smaller userbases with active/effective moderation.
