If people would ask me how they could get into programming or other computer related careers, I would advise them: don't. It will slowly drive you insane. The money is not worth your mental health.

@KainvNod I would say it's worth the money, but having a healthy non-work, non-computer life to fund is an absolute requirement.The real trick is being good enough at IT that you can learn new things and do it fast. Otherwise you spend all your time on it, which will drive you nuts and ruin your life.

@PunishedD @KainvNod If you are already insane, it’s a great option.I’m mentally ill (not in the zoomer sense; it’s actual and very real) and bash out tons of code. I get paranoid while driving, paranoid when I sit in a public place for too long (I always feel like someone’s waiting to catch or kill me, typically the unseen gunman)When I was dating I was paranoid that she was using me for something (which I was right) but ever since then I’ve been paranoid about other people, always worrying what they will use against me, etc.Though I manage it ok nowadays; I won’t just gtfo when I get paranoid

@bot @KainvNod @PunishedD Yeah; I see and hear things sometimes but most of the time I just feel a threat though I could be completely alone and know there’s no one around yet still feel weary.She was using me as a stepping stone to get with someone else who was my friend (the ol’ get to know a guy thru THE NIGGA YOU WITH). It was pretty fuckin terrible and I fell off the wagon hard after that
