Okay mask off, total fosstuber death (except brodie he's chill). Stop watching these Linux Channels they are not teaching you anything technically significant.I'd rather listen to eli the computer guy talk for 8 hours about Active Directory, telephony, TCP/IP networking, and VPNs, than have to listen to YouTubers talk about Wayland, Xorg, or whatever the fuck GUI application that sucks ass.Anyways I'm going to pump iron, you all have a nice day :cirno_smile:

@splitshockvirus Linux youtube videos are the worst, podcasts are where it's at. And even then mostly just for updates on what is going on in various different fields of linux. I probably listen to every relevant linux podcast out there, the linux cast included. Honestly I quit watching all youtube and just listen to podcasts now for pretty much all my media besides music and actual movies / tv. Youtube sucks as a platform and promotes bottom of the barrel content.

@10leej @splitshockvirus yeah i agree learnlinux tv is good for really specific issues i had on linux and i took a look at your channel its useful but more struck me first impression as a review channel or my argument on this topic.Also im to dumb you throw to many terms for software i don't use so i was truly only about half able to following along.

@rejectwreck I like level1techs, eli the computer guy, and anyone that sounds like they are doing a university class presentation and not a YouTube presentation.Some general guidelines I'd provide are, avoid people that are obviously milking the 10 minute mark for monetization optimization. If the video is on a topic that is really boring but is very technical, it's probably important you should try to focus on that topic. I personally like videos that are in the form slide shows because that's a standard teaching format.If the aforementioned is too boring for you or if you want to try a more hands on and practical approach you can look up people do something called "home labs" and see what type of software stacks and services they are running, try to run them yourself. They might not give you the step by step installation but they don't have to that's where you read documentation. Something like plex media server, Minecraft, jellyfin, mumble TeamSpeak maybe even your own web server, any number of video game servers. That's what I did for 4 years and it basically taught me everything I know now, and you really don't even need a college degree or certs to do what I do but I have one anyway.Anyways that's my best advice I can give you don't rely on any one source or channel for information.
