       Something doesn't quite smell right with this post.To get your pilot's license you need to start flying a small plane without instruments. It isn't like "Congratulations on Day 1 of working at American Airlines. Do you know what an airplane is, because you'll be flying one today!"

       @sj_zero @disavowmrman the process needs to change *and* standards need to be keptit's not really in question that once you automate away many of the fundamentals of a job, the people who've been in it for awhile lose touch with the fundamentals. the same thing happens in every field, e.g. we have loads of programmers now who have no clue about memory because they've just never had to think about it beyond some toy problem sophomore year in college
