seems ssh can also be used for setting up a socks5 proxy using the -D flag.ssh -D localhost:1080 root@hostI’m connected to to my server over ssh, but I also have a socks5 proxy. I’ve set up my browser to use socks5 on localhost:1080 and indeed, the internet now sees my server’s ip.

huh, I'm even finding something about using ssh to set up a vpn connection. But maybe there are easier things to use for that, idk. I'd kinda like to have a vpn connection from my phone to my server, but I also don't really want to put effort in it, so meh.
