       @Schaefer0 @bradfitz Do you have a "phone"? A "tablet"? Does it have a "files" app? Why?Even the cloud makes files - by which I mean simple static streams of bytes, with sensible naming, access control, and other basics - very hard.The future does not have files, only databases. You can like that or loathe that, but it's happening.

       @robpike @bradfitz there’s a difference between a developer’s view and a user’s view. Can you write a c program on your phone for your phone? On your tablet for your tablet? Can you get to and modify your phone’s OS source code on your phone from your phone?

       @Schaefer0 @bradfitz Those in the know can sometimes find their way through to the underlying file system but the computing model offered to normal users hides them completely.It's ironic that we have come right back to the file-type-per-program model that Unix was largely created to escape, yet Unix runs under all the systems I'm railing against.
