       Is there an alternative to Nextcloud/ownCloud that doesn't suck? (Without having to give into proprietary SaaS).

       @sindastra possibly for individual components (Seafile comes to mind for example), but otherwise NC/OC is the pain-free solution, particularly if non-tech people are supposed to use it.

       @sindastra If you are only interested in sharing files using #webdav  I made #KaraDAV: https://github.com/kd2org/karadavIt supports #NextCloud/#ownCloud clients, multiple users, and provides a WOPI server so you can edit your Office documents using #Collabora or OnlyOffice.or even more minimalist is this single file WebDAV server I also made, called #PicoDAV: https://github.com/kd2org/picodav/But this doesn't support NC/OC clients or WOPI.

       @sindastra Both don't provide any additional apps like NC/OC, it's just files.Also there is no sharing, although it would be possible to support it if someone wanted to implement it.
