       The fact that Google is opening up #podcasts to YouTube/YouTube Music means Google Podcasts isn't performing like they hoped, and is definitely one of their 'lets throw it at wall and see what sticks' efforts. Instead of the standalone podcast app model (eg. #ApplePodcasts), it looks like they are trying the all audio model (eg. #Spotify, #AmazonMusic).        @joe Google Podcasts has no revenue model.YouTube of course has a strong revenue model, and Google stands to make good money from flogging ads in and around podcast content - some of which it will share with creators. It could also tip users from Spotify, for the YouTube Music product (which I believe is a better product now anyway).The fact that Google Podcasts is no longer promoted by Google in Google Search rather seals its fate. I don't give it long.
