I doubt she's actually logging in here.this difference does matter. change will be slow on all issues of public interest until people are using media that is truly fair, not biased towards owners and advertisers and lacking in true dialogue. we have to be in control of what goes viral, and that process needs to involve concern over good faith feedback. it needs to be social and decentralized.

@wjmaggos At the bottom of each toot by default, except if posted on instances that remove this important information, it is listed which Mastodon client was used to post it.In this case, it is "Mastodon for iOS", which would make it https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mastodon-for-iphone/id1571998974 this one, which AFAIK is only for direct interactive use.I hope this may answer your question.

@b9AcE Thanks. I don't see that info in my app. But that doesn't mean she spends any time in the #fediverse. She might just copy text, open app, post and close the app. That's ok, I'm alright with people staying on Twitter, but I do want people to use the #fediverse regularly and help in transition. I think it's really important to making all other social changes. A media where the people rule.

@wjmaggos Yes, I agree.I would speculate that people with millions of followers across platforms probably can't read everything and so unless they hire dedicated staff for the purpose may choose to not monitor @-mentions at all under normal conditions, for example. I don't know what is the case here of course, just sharing my generalized presumption.I hadn't used "Megalodon", but I checked and if you click the icon encircled in the picture you should get a bunch of suggestions for what other apps/activities to use the toot in, in which if you choose your web browser you should get any toot to open directly on its original Mastodon-instance, where the most and most up-to-date information about every toot and user-profile is found.

That would be an algorithm.That she is more active on birdsite probably has more to do with the network she has there that has not yet moved to the Fediverse.The more followers she has here and the more followers disappear from her birdsite account, the more likely she will be more active on here.She has a global following. @MaryPot @b9AcEso what happens if she told people she will now primarily use Mastodon? she explains that Twitter/Elon and the advertisers there are ultimately doing more harm than good for the planet. maybe instead of posting there, she only posts links to posts here. she only interacts here. that would help grow this space.
