OK sorry to twitterpost but twitter killing Substack embeds is just about the biggest own-goal I can think of. Cutting off buzzfeed and other news sites might be the only thing worse. It's part of what actually makes tweets influential outside twitter. Cutting that off isn't going to make people find tweets *more*#twitter

@misty lately it feels like musk is just acting really jealous of social media "sysops" from back in the day, and is doing all the things they did, or wish he did... while not really acknowledging he's doing it with one of the oldest, most established social media website there is.

@misty I always felt this way about the (supposed?) algorithmic de-prioritization of tweets that link away from twitter; the Product Managers at Twitter presumably assumed that was bad for twitter, as it means diverting people off the app, but like... twitter sort of sucks if its literally *only* for seeing content that can be expressed as a tweet. Tweets aren't *that* good.
