       @mimi89999 @zero @mimi89999 not what you plug your ram intoalso about 32GB/s for pcie4x16you could argue that desktop ram is way further from the cpu and performs way better than any soldered ram.the macbook soc has 6400mt/s and the fastest you can easily buy for desktop is 8000mt/s

       @special-boy @zero @mimi89999 presumably what they're talking about -- or whoever told them this was talking about -- is heat transfer to the board. it's going to transfer a lot better through soldered connections than card edge connectionsbut I have no idea how much that matters here, and they have at least two other "good" reasons for soldering RAM: it's lower profile so they can make their crap thinner, and it makes upgrades a lot harder
