Why use the term "Adult Film", when you actually mean "Pornography"?"Adult film" suggests a film intended for an adult audience, correct?Yet, no one would call "The Conjuring", "Poltergeist", "The Ring", or "Schindlers List", "Adult films"?Is it because words, by themselves, has become "problematic"? Not the context in which they are found?I was prompted by this article by @Reuters:The weird thing is, they also use the word "porn". @PawelK @Reuters I still don't get it. Even you wrote "p0rn", instead of "porn". Why?The word is just a word, we both know what you mean, no one gets hurt if you used it, so why didn't you?I'm not trying to to stir up anger, I'm genuinely curious.When everybody knows what "p0rn", "p*rn", "pron", etc. means. And we all know what message is being presented, whay not just use the word?

@nickfrederiksen @Reuters I have two explanations for that:-sometimes somewhere it is considered a dirty word use, and -on some FBs and TwTs, it costs you 30 days ban, and some people are conditioned to avoid either so strongly, they might do this automatically, one of which might have just happened to me above there.

@nickfrederiksen @PawelK @Reuters If there is a normalization going on, it is a normalization of violence in films and tv series. It has been like that for years, while porn continues to live it's good life in the shadows wrapped by the majority inside euphemisms.

@PawelK @Reuters case in point of my original statement. The words themselves are, somehow, bad. Never mind the context, the word itself is to be banned.It's is completely backwards.
