They are going to fire people via zoom…“In an internal email last week to U.S. employees and some international staff, McDonald’s asked them to work from home from Monday through Wednesday so it can deliver staffing decisions virtually, the report said. It is unclear how many employees will be laid off.”F6A1688D-6B34-4CAF-AECB-AB540F00539B.jpeg

Well, the US Government just rolled out Free Internet Access to the most useless people in the USA.Once unemployed, you are qualified. Do not get a job or you risk losing it.

@threalist @Jdogg247 Turns out working for a monolithic faceless corporation (like most every job is now) where you can get shitcanned and no one who actually knows you gets a say isn't an environment that fosters that kind of sentiment. Who knew?

You are over-complicating things. We would all love to have fiber running to our front doors. We could, we spent a fortune on programs like this where the guy in a condemned building gets high-speed internet for a year, paid from taxes. Then, he gets shot obviously, and the service stays on because nobody gives a shit and AT&T is happy to pocket the payment for a service nobody is using. The guys is rotting there for two years, undiscovered. Then a new owner moves in, and AT&T gets a renewal on the copper line they installed when the Flintstones first moved in.Nobody gets fiber, everyone is poor, and stays poor. The only people who are "qualified" are the broke-ass drug addicts.People who learned to spell and earn a living has to pay their own way. The "american way".

@KingDick When I was a kid my dad worked for an east coast tech company and was a twentysomething year old field technician. He did good work and got flown to the east coast to go out on the founder’s yacht with the founder and came home with a case of live lobsters, a gold watch, a raise, a title bump, and worked there until that man retired and got replaced by MBAs. They fucked everything up and he resigned and got a job with one of their former customers.Funny how things all rest on one man sometimes.@Jdogg247 @threalist
