       Left a comment to #Mastodon issue "Add thread lines to visually indicate which toot is being replied to".I really think this is something that should be improved to the next Mastodon version. A single line would be sufficient. https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/19570#issuecomment-1493057424 #MastoAdmin

       @rolle couldn’t agree more. It’s a real shame that there is nothing at all on Thursday DOM that indicates which posts are replies to what.

       @michael Yeah. For styling all I'd need is a class like .status-first-reply. Right now it's all on the same level in the DOM without any helpers whatsoever.

       @rolle yeah, I was looking into this last week, to see if I could Donahue in css on my instance, and was really surprised, that there is no distinction at all in the DOM.

       @rolle Yeah I ultimately settled on at least more visually marking that a post IS a reply. It at least helps in the Home and Federated feed somewhat.cc: @michael

       Has anyone from the #MastoAdmin community have successfully implemented threaded conversations to any Mastodon instance? I'm not that experienced in advanced js/jsx to be able to do this yet. I'll figure it out but any help would be appreciated.For starters I'd only need a class for the first and the last reply. The rest can be achieved via #CSS only.

       @rolle#Fedilab 2.x has/had threaded replies; I don't know about 3.x though?

       @ddlyh I'm not talking about apps. I'm talking about the Mastodon core, the web front end.

       @rolle I'm surpriced you were the first one to ask for such a basic funtionality.

       @ikkeT I was not to ask, I've just been commenting to a stalled issue. There's been issues about this, some closed, some open.It seems the general consensus right now is "won't fix, because"1. Indenting makes the area too narrow and not sufficient for the advanced column view2. Multiple lines are messy (this feature existed in Mastodon in 2018, see Gargron's PR https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/pull/6551) and therefore whole threading idea should be dismissed3. Single line threads are not consistent for some obscure reason OR the traditional "Twitter uses this approach and we don't like to be Twitter" rationale
