#Texas in a photo. I don’t know if truck nuts (the dangly bits below the trailer hitch) are a thing any place else in the US (or the world) but I see them regularly around here, though usually made of plastic. So I don’t know if it’s a competition for having the most hard core “truck nuts”, and I suppose it’s possible this person is just trying to be ironic, but they definitely win. #photography #machismo

@Trilobyter Given that the below is what they originally looked like, I'd say this is an improvement... almost.

@Trilobyter I want to think the owner is trying to be sarcastic, but those over-wide tires and giant exhaust indicate "douchebag bro-dozer".Wait til he finds out that those tires fling all kinds of road debris against the paint... hehe.

@THM_T17 well they can’t deal with masterpieces of Renaissance sculpture exhibiting dangly bits so at least they’re being consistent.

@THM_T17 that’s how I sometimes console myself when TX right wing culture & politics gets to be too much, “at least I’m not living in Florida”. Though, fun fact, I was actually born in Florida.

@Trilobyter The Florida I knew as a child was awesome, came back 16 years ago, and it was OK, but these days.... oh man these days.I don't want to move parents retired here, youngest still in HS, but with the job situ for a good offer I'd go.

@THM_T17 my family moved out of Florida when I was two - to Texas, which is where my parents grew up. In raw numbers there are plenty of progressive-minded people here, more concentrated in the urban areas of course, but it’s a big state and large segments of the population are apathetic & don’t vote - so the whackos remain entrenched in power.

@Trilobyter All fun and games until you have to make a sudden stop and those things swing up and whack the crap out of the undercarriage.

@Trilobyter I bet our ‘75 Scout went more places than that studly rig will ever go. Probably hauled more too.

@Trilobyter The raised chassis and extra wide tires suggest that no, he's not ironic.

@Trilobyter Go to Alberta, Canada. Trucknuts are definitely a thing there. Alberta is probably the most Texas like of all the Canadian Provinces!
