       And then, some devs are now hell-bound to port the complete Delta Chat Core from #Rust to #Python for the next release https://github.com/deltachat/deltachat-core-rust/pull/4259(already works and passes the tests locally but CI is failing -- go figure!)

       @delta Why should anybody do such a thing?#Rust is a modern, compiled, fast language, while #Python is a mediocre scripting language with a global interpreter lock and thus lacking real threading. And scripting languages are slower than compiled code anyway.Can only be done on 1 April.

       @EMR @holgerjakobs we are using python for many things, from automated testing of core functionality to a whole host of production used bots, and a curses based dc client
