       Apparently the standards organization for test equipment (members most if not all of the large test equipment manufacturers, apparently), will dictate that starting later this year 1X/10X switchable oscilloscope probes will no longer be shipped with members' equipment, due to claimed problems with the switches that are detrimental to proper measurements. Henceforth apparently they will need to ship separate 1X and 10X probes. Of course, you could still get switchable probes from other sources.
