seeing a lot of “the trans agenda is wanting to live in peace without being attacked by people who hate them for no reason, and that’s literally it!!”but can I add, uhm that is not literally it? - greater and cheaper access to medical care, including HRT, and affirming surgeries- better representation in media than being the weird mannish looking woman (played by a cis man or cis woman) who has a great personality but gets abused by everyone: that shit is for cis people to gawk at- for trans kids to not be shamed and bullied and parents of trans kids to not be shamed for affirming them instead of forcing their kids into a closet. - stop fetishising us? it forces a grand lot of us out of other fields of work and into sex work due to the pre concieved notion that our existence is inherently sexualised. nothing wrong with sex work, but the choice would be nice- trans men exist and need reproductive care too; cut it out with your 1 uterus = 1 woman reductive bullshit.- buy us a fucking pizza

and that is still not literally it- easier time changing identity documents to match out identities - can we get equal marriage rights going in more countries? believe it or not that affects trans people too- the other lgbt issues all affects us too, laws around death, inheritence, child custody, basic bodily autonomy, discrimination in medicine, housing, employment, education, conversion therapy. fix it! when you pass pro LGB laws don’t forget us. we are still not considered a protected class in many places where LGB people *are*edit: - the right to compete in sports that match their gender- the right to spaces that match their gender: added explicitly because fuck transphobes, you don’t belong on fediverse, delete your account

things english speaking trans people are less aware of:- end the requirement to sterilise trans people in every country that requires this. (e.g. poland)- end the requirement to have parental consent to do any affirmation for adults who should not need parental consent for anything

the trans agenda isn’t to “live in peace” as sequestered hermits and second class citizens, forced to beg for the basic rights cis people take for granted by just living as cis people.it’s not enough for me to just not be attacked by people who hate me. not by a long shot. @bri_seven the only rights i dont think trans should have compared to cis people is participating in opposite sex sports and entering spaces where genitals of the opposite sex would be shown (sauna, changing rooms). i dont think its fair to shit on people for being uncomfortable with that....but outside this trans people do deserve to have an easier time transitioning their identities on paper and having access to HRT, and entering bathrooms that apply to their gender.sterlizing trans people doesnt apply to me, since my country doesnt do that

anyway that ended up longer than I expected it and probably Shoulda Been A Blog Post (tm)just that “trans people just wanna be left alone and that’s it” annoys me so much because we deserve so much more than that. “they aren’t hurtin’ no one” still contains the seeds of transphobia- the idea that being trans is “doing” something. making a choice, and so therefore whether that choice is hurting others is a question that should be asked and debated. no, it isn’t. none of that is legitimate discussion, it’s cis supremecy. it’s talking *about* us, not with us. it’s putting the decision for whether we deserve to exist in cis hands. it doesn’t matter if the answer is positive, it’s assuming it’s for cis people to answer
