Ugh, somebody let porn into the federated timeline on QOTO. 😠There's no way to get rid of it without blocking the user or domain each time it pops up, and that's not very practical. I guess this is where an ML-curated timeline like Twitter's can shine, simply not showing undesired content of this kind.

@gabe you just block the instances that curate to porn and your good. Thats ghr beauty of the fediverse, it makes it very easy toncurate your public tineline by blocking whole instances not people.Remeber the federated timeline is the whole fediverse by default.

@gabe April fools joke? As I understand QOTO doesn't curate a lot of the federated timeline and that's wanted behaviour (there's clear policy on local timeline for QOTO users). It's the user responsibility to block some. @wihou @gabe Tbis is exactly right, our federated tineline is open so users can pick what we want for ourselves. There are blocklists one can import to make that easier. Thr ability to block whole instances, and not just people, makes that easier than with other platforms.
