@stux We have commercials on TV encouraging people to get locks on their guns so they'll reconsider commiting suicide in the moment. Rather than making therapy available for low income people.

@stux I don't know. Guns are expensive. You could probably get 5-6 sessions with a therapist for the cost of a weapon and they don't require background checks. But your meaning is correct: America is a dangerous, dysfunctional hell-scape.

@stux that's true. I work in mental health. This is a chronically in demand service with short supply. On the other hand it seems there's three gun stores in every town and more and more states are passing laws that remove the need for licensing or background checks. That's just for the gun stores. There's also private sales, conventions, raffles, etc.

@stux On the average, yes, and it's far cheaper too.I'm pretty sure the logic is if a person is mentally unwell, they'll obviously have difficulty earning money so less likely to be able to buy a gun and bullets.
