OK this is a special moment. It's my first attempt at a drum cover, published on my first attempt at a self-hosted PeerTube instance 😂 😟 I'm interested to know if you get stuttering on desktop or mobile devices. Is audio in sync with video? Still figuring this all out and tweaking things. @killyourfm oh wow! I’ve been learning for more than 2y and I don’t think I could make a cover like that! 🤯 Well done!The video was in sync and smooth on my iPhone 13 mini using the embedded browser of the Metatext app (I suspect it’s just the vanilla Safari).

@camaru thank you! I honestly feel like those years of playing Rock Band with the cymbal expansion helped me subconsciously learn some of the fundamentals. And maybe to more easily identify beats. Forever grateful to Harmonix for that game…I appreciate you watching and giving feedback.

@killyourfm I’d say so, because that’s not the drumming of a beginner just one week in!Tip: try to keep your pinkie finger connected to the stick (probably noticed because it’s still one of my worst habits) as it can aid your control, especially at high speed.Video looks/sounds great – no stutters loading page via in-app browser in Ivory.

@obryanb The setup flow was basically: Install Cloudron through the Linode marketplace, use Cloudron to one-click install PeerTube. No command line was involved, which was a pleasant surprise! (The Linode is a Dedicated 2 CPU core / 4GB RAM)

The real question is were you rushing or were you dragging? 🤔😆I was on a 4g connection into work and got a couple of freezes toward beginning and and of bid, but I don't think it's much different from watching YouTube under similar circumstances!

@thanius It WAS featured on Rock Band (can't remember if it was on-disc or DLC). I'm convinced a lot of the fundamentals transferred over from Rock Band to a real kit -- I think people who transition from that to the real thing have a big advantage, but I did have to watch some other drum covers to see how it's done properly. Also, my technique sucks but I'll get there :D

@killyourfm Yeah, a click can be a challenge, I know talented drummers who get completely fucked up by a click track.You did great - honestly you sound waaaaaaay better than 7 days practice. And I say that as someone who used to help run a 7 day music even for children; some of which had never played before. All that rock band-ing has evidently paid off!
