@hasanahmsd @leo @jeffjarvis @caseynewton that's a very confusing storyI've been very worried that something like this would happen - but that article talks about something called ELIZA that it claims "uses OpenAI's ChatGPT technology" which the man started using "about two years ago"ChatGPT isn't four months old yet. Maybe they're confusing it with original GPT3?Plus ELIZA is a chatbot from 60 years ago, has that name been reused for something else more recently?

@simon @hasanahmsd @leo @jeffjarvis @caseynewton yeah, was gonna say. Eliza is just an app that essentially just rephrases your statements and poses them to you as questions. Like "i'm unhappy" responds with something like "why do you feel unhappy?” No intelligence whatsoever. I suspect the author just assumed Eliza was an AI chatbot using ChatGPT because that's not an unreasonable assumption.
